Bubble Gum M & M's

Who can resist an old fashioned gumball machine!! Then add M&M's....YUMMY!!

For this card I started with a base of Real Red cardstock, layered Whisper White cardstock on top of that. I stamped the sentiment "Birthday Celebrations" from the Upsy Daisy Stamp Set in Basic Black Classic Ink. Then I used my 1/2" Circle Punch and punched out 6 each of Yo-Yo Yellow, Only Orange & Gable Green Cardstock (to match the M&M's). I randomly place & glued the dots down with my Tombow Glue. Next comes the gumball machine from the NEW stamp set called Something Sweet that will be available in the new Stampin' UP! Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped the bottom of the gumball machine usine Real Red Classic Ink, then punched the hole for the Sweet Treat Cup with my 1-3/4". Then I stamped the cover of the gumball machine with Real Red Classic Ink. I know that it is hard to see on the picture but I did color the stamped image with my Versamarker and used Clear Embossing Powder to make it shiny like a real gumball machine. I filled my Sweet Treat Cup with M&M's and attached a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the back (I didn't like the Real Red showing through the back, the white shows off the M&M's a little more). Next, I attached the Sweet Treat Cup to the stamped gumball machine image. Then I layered this to the Real Red cardstock and finally attached this to the top of the "spotted" Whisper White cardstock.

This will be card #4 for my upcoming card class on January 23rd! Let me know if you're interested in attending the class. Or if you cannot make the class I will be glad to make the cards and send them out for you!

Abundant Hope - Card #3

Here is another one I made while playing. Again I got the original idea from SCS but I couldn't quite figure out the measurements so I changed quite a bit but it was a good starting point!
The base layer is Mellow Moss Cardstock with Always Artichoke Cardstock to follow. The top base layer is Apricot Appeal, which I ran through the Big Shot with the tiny dots textures. Next came the sentiment "Easter Blessings" stamped with Always Artichoke Classic Ink. Then I stamped the daffodil image from the Abundant Hope stamp set that will be available in the Occasions Mini catalog begining in January! I colored the image with my Apricot Appeal & Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Markers. I thought it needed some sparkle so I added Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers. Wrapped it with 1/4" Apricot Appeal Grosgrain Ribbon tied into a know. This was then layered onto Always Artichoke Cardstock that was edged with the Eyelet Border Punch.
Well, two more to make and I am having issues with what to do with my gumball machine !! Hopefully I will come up with something. I will post it once I figure it out!

Upsy Daisy Banana

Good morning, EVERYONE!!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that you got all the presents you were hoping for.
Last night I had a little time to play with my toys!!
I found a card that I loved over at SCS so I thought I would try to re-create it. I really like it so this will be the 2nd card for my upcoming 10 cards for $15 class in January.
I started with Barely Banana Cardstock. Paper pierced the very bottom edge. Then stamped "you're on my mind" sentiment with Going Grey Classic Ink just above the piercing. The I stamped the daisies from the Upsy Daisey Stamp Set, also using Going Grey Classic Ink, onto Whisper White Cardstock. Next I cut a strip of Going Grey Cardstock and punched it with the Scallop Edge Punch. I also cut a piece of Going Grey DSP to use across the top of the daisy image. I finished it off with White Tafetta Ribbon.
Hope you like it!

Mambo Happiness with SALE-A-BRATIONS Madness!

Well, its been a while!!

While we are awaiting Santa's arrival, I thought I would try to come up with some cards for my next 10 cards for $15 class on January 23rd!

I got the idea from the Stampin' UP! Stampers Showcase but I changed a couple of things.
I started with a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock...stamped the Baroque Motif image with Melon Mambo Classic Ink. Layered this onto a folded piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I then ran a piece of Pretty in Pink Cardstock through the Big Shot to texture it (you cannot see that part on here, so I redid it again so it was a little more noticeable but didn't take a new picture). I stamped the sentiment "Happiness Always" from the new Sale-A-Brations stamp set called Whimsical Words. This is stamped with Melon Mambo Classic Ink. Next....I cut a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and punched it with the new Scallop Trim Border Punch (YOU CAN GET THIS FREE WITH SALE-A-BRATIONS ORDER of $50 or more!). Now, onto the little flower....this is another Big Shot tool, this is an embosslet. It looks like a little folder that you put the Melon Mambo Cardstock into and it comes out punched & dry embossed to make this beautiful little flower. Then I ran the sanding block over the raised image to give a little color contrast. This was then layered onto Pretty in Pink Cardstock and then Whisper White Cardstock.
Hope you like it!! Would love to hear what you think of it.

Team Meeting/Christmas Party Today

Well, tomorrow is our big team meeting to celebrate the holidays. I am bringing deviled eggs for my dish to pass and have been working hard on my swap cards and my stamped gift to exchange.

Here is a picture of the gift I made to exchange. It is a little purse made with the Top Note Die Cut and a little goodie bag. I filled the goodie bag with pretzels hand dipped in white chocolate. I also made some covers to match the purse & goodie bag for some mint patties and put them inside the little purse.
The card was also made to match the purse & goodie bag. Same with the gift bag.

Dashing Snowflake Christmas Swap Card

Still playing around with my new stuff!

Here is a card that I will be using for an upcoming team meeting swap card. So those of you that are going to the same meeting will be receiving one of these. I will also be hosting a stamping class for the Green Bay Park & Rec Dept on September 14th . The attendees will be making 6 cards, 3 designs (so they will make 2 of each card). This will be one of the cards that they will be making.

If you live in Green Bay or near by and would like to attend, please contact the Green Bay Park & Rec Department for more information and/or to sign up. There will also be a class in October & November. The November class will be ALL Christmas cards. September & October will be a variety of cards.

I stamped my new Dasher Stamp with Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White Cardstock. This was then layered onto Real Red cardstock that was punched with the Eyelet Border punch & a little Real Red Gingham Ribbon added for flair. The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock with Whisper White added for the card portion (the larger white portion opens up to put your sentiment). I used the new Four the Holiday "Merry Christmas" stamp on the bottom (sorry I was a sloppy stamper today, you can see a little of the ink got onto the edges of the rubber around the words). I also utilized my Big Shot with the Snowflake #2 Die Cut....my hint to you is to only run one piece of cardstock through at a time. I tried doing 2 at a time and portions of the middle of the snowflake were pretty tricky to get apart without ripping the snowflake. I then attached the snowflake to the Whisper White cardstock with my 2-way Glue Pen and then layered by Dasher reindeer over the top.

Would love to hear what you think of this!! It looks pretty clean and simple which is what I was going for so that the girls aren't overwhelmed at the class next month.

Shelley's Walrus

Finally got my preorder today!

My friend wants to use the Cute & Cuddly stamp set for her Christmas cards this year. She also had her heart set on using the new Rich Razzleberry along with a "green". We contemplated a few different but all seemed to be too dark. Then I remembered seeing another customer of mine holding her Rich Razzleberry & Certainly Celery packs of paper that she just ordered and thought they looked REALLY nice together. So we tried a couple of different combinations and came up with this one. The only change will be that she adds some white snowflakes to the Rich Razzleberry background. She is happy with it so we are all good.

Stamps: Cute & Cuddly, Four the Holidays
Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White & Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Certainly Celery & Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, 1/4" Certainly Celery Grossgrain Ribbon, Big Shot Texture Template (used on the Certainly Celery).

Hope you like it!

Petal Pizazz Birthday

This is the card we made at my lunchtime class this week.

I was using up some older scrapbook paper that I have. So that is what is on the bottom half of the card. I also used Old Olive & punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. Used up som Kiwi Kiss ribbon that really matches the Old Olive color as well. I stamped the flowers with Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac & Pixie Pink. Punched them out with the Circle Scallop punch. Then put a Silver Brad in the middle of each. Attached them with Stampin Dimensionals. I have also used this recently for a Thank You card.

Hope you enjoy it!!Posted by Picasa

Congratulations Graduate!

This week the girls will be making a graduation card. I found this cute little owl made a few different times and thought he was so cute I wanted to try it out. Hope you like it!

Here's how I made it:

Started with base piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock (5.5x4.25). Next came Creamy Caramel Cardstock (5.25x4). Before layering this onto the Chocolate Chip Cardstock I rolled the Classic Stars Jumbo Roller with Creamy Caramel. Next I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock (3.5x1). Whisper White Cardstock (3.25x.75) and stamped "contratulations" from the Stampin' UP! Sale-A-Brations stamp set called Congrats.

To Make the Owl:
1 - 1-3/4" Circle (body)
1 - Scalloped Circle, cut in half (wings)
1 - Tab Punch (head) Close to Cocoa Cardstock
2 - 1/2" Circle (Eyes) Whisper White
2 - 1/4" Circle (Eyes) Basic Black
1 - tip of the Large Star Punch (beak) So Saffron
1 - tip of the Small Tag Punch (bottom of hat) Basic Black
1 - 1.5x.25 Piece of Basic Black Cardstock (top of hat)

The tassel is a piece of Basic Black 1/4" Grossgrain Ribbon...tie a know & shred the bottop and attach to the back and flip over the front of the hat.

Strawberry Sparkle Punch

I have a monthly recipe class. The ladies can provide the recipes they wish to have used. This month the recipe for Strawberry Sparkle Punch. I thought it would be fun to try and make the background look like a strawberry. I don't think I did too bad. The only think is that there isn't any stamping, which I guess isn't a horrible thing.

Supplies used:
Paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White
Accessories: 5 Petal Flower Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Eyelet Border Punch & Red Gingham Ribbon
Thanks for looking, I would love to hear what you think of this!

Thanks Mr K!

This last week was teacher appreciation week. My son wanted to make sure that we included ALL of his teachers. So we made cards for his teacher, his social studies teacher, his art teacher, his music teacher and of course, his gym teacher. I had to pull out the retired stamp set Sporting Goods to make this one.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Sporting Goods (retired) & Sporting
Paper: So Saffron, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue
Ink: Basic Black & Night of Navy
Accessories: 1" Circle Punch, White Gel Pen, Paper Snips & Dimensionals (to pop up the balls)
Hope you like it.....Mr K did!

Bambi & Thumper look-a-likes

Here is the card for my card class tomorrow. We created a card (VERY) similar to it at a Stampin' UP! Team meeting I attended on Sunday. I added the deer and changed the sentiment, and also the background stamps are different because I didn't have the same ones. I think it still turned out pretty good.

Supplies I used are:
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Old Olive & Whisper White
Stamps: Oval All, Forest Friends, So Swirly Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa & Creamy Caramel
Accessories: 1/16" Handheld Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Gold Brads, Sponge & Dimensionals

This is for my recipe card class on Tuesday! Here's how I made it:

  • Attached that to the center of the Creamy Caramel Cardstock
  • Cut a 6"x0.5" piece of Whisper White Cardstock
  • Cut a 6"x1.75" piece of Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ran both pieces through the Big Shot with the Swirly Texture Background
  • Roughed up one of the long edges of the 6"x1.75" Whisper White Cardstock.
  • Attached the smallest piece of Whisper White to the bottom of the Green Galore
  • Lined up the larger piece of Whisper White to the top of the Creamy Caramel which will also overlap the Green Galore about 1/8".
  • Printed the Recipe onto Whisper White Cardstock & cut to 2.75"x5.5"
  • Cut a 5.75"x3.5" piece of Close to Cocoa Cardstock
  • Punch one side with the Eyelet Border Punch

Pull Out Flower Pot

Saw this over on SCS for a technique challenge & had to try it. This will be my lunch time card class for next week. Hope the girls don't get too overwhelmed with it in a 1/2 hour.
Used the Scalloped Circle Punch to create the flowers, also used the 5-Petal Flower Punch for the leaves behind.
Hope you like it! It was alot of fun to make!

Happy 3rd Birthday Cody

My Cousin's little boy, Cody is turning 3 on April Fool's Day!! We are going up north (where he lives) later in the week. So thought I should get working on his card.

Yesterday I picked up this Sixxix Train Die at Michaels with a 50% off coupon I got in an email so I ended up paying $10 for it, how great is that!!

Here are the steps for making the card:

  • Cut Pacific Point Blue Cardstock (4.25x5.5) for base of card
  • Cut Kiwi Kiss Cardstock (4x5.25), layer that on top of the Pacific Point Cardstock.
  • Cut Whisper White Cardstock (3.75x5), layer this on top of the Kiwi Kiss Cardstock.
  • I have some chipboard alphabet & letters, I traced the "3" and cut it out of Kiwi Kiss Cardstock.
  • Next I ran pieces of Pacific Point & Kiwi Kiss Cardstock thru the Big Shot with the Sixxix Train Die. This die has the steam engine, 2 passenger cars & a caboose. I only cut out the engine & one of the cars.
  • I trimmed off the top portion of the passenger car to make it a flatbed to carry my "3".
  • I then attached the Pacific Point train & flatbed (see how the cars interlock, I did cut off the hook at the back of the flatbed since there were no more cars).
  • Remove the center pieces of the Pacific Point train.
  • I punched out the Kiwi Kiss "center pieces" and attached them to the Pacific Point train.
  • Then I attached the smoke puffs.
  • I then cut & attached the back folded portion of the card using Whisper White Cardstock (8.5x5.5), folded it in half & attached it to the finished card front.
  • Last, I stamped the "BIRTHDAY WISHES" sentiment for the Stampin' UP! WOW Flowers Stamp Set.

Suppllies Needed:

  • Stamps: WOW Flowers
  • Paper: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss & Whisper White
  • Ink: Kiwi Kiss
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sixxix train die, Boho Flower Punch

Cherish God's Beauty

There are lots of things to cherish in life. We have learned that in our family again! I won't go into details here but it has been a whirlwind on emotions as of late.

My Auntie Susie is a butterfly nut! She has dogs that are of the Papillion breed. Papillion means butterfly. So I was thinking of her when I made this card.

I also got to play with my new Big Shot & the texture plates. I love this new toy!! I have used it a couple of times now for my lunch-time work classes and the girls seem to enjoy it as well.

Steps for making the card are:

  • Only Orange Paper (4x5.25), run thru the Big Shot with the Texture Template
  • Run a Sanding Block over the top, this helps to lighten the color of the raised texture, this process is optional but was used on my sample.
  • Shimmery White (4x2.25), run thru the Big Shot with the Texture Template
  • Basic Black (4x2.5) - punch your Jumbo Oval out of the center
  • Attach your Shimmery White Textured Paper to the Basic Black strip.
  • Then Layer this onto the center of your Only Orange Textured Paper

Pikachu for you, Jordan!!

Here's is my attempt at creating a punched out Pikachu. Next to trains, my child has discovered & become obsessed with Pokemon.

For those of you who do not know, it is not only cards that you collect & trade but also a card game that teaches strategy. It has also helped with reading comprehension, concentration & much much more! There is a local store here in Green Bay called GNOME GAMES that has time for Pokemon League play and tournaments. It is a great thing!! We have made this one of Jordan's weekly rewards/incentives for having a good week at school. It has been a huge success!

This week Jordan was invited to a birthday party for a friend from his classroom. His friend, Brandon is also a Pokemon player so Jordan asked if I would try to create a Pokemon for him. This is what I came up with!! Jordan said the card was a hit at the birthday party. We also took it over to the store where the kids were playing Pokemon to see what they thought. They went crazy!!! Later, on our way home, Jordan told me I was the best Mom in the whole world!! That was worth all the time I put into trying to make the card.

Supplies Used:

No Stamps or Ink for this one!!

Papers: Pacific Point, YoYo Yellow, Real Red, Basic Black & Whisper White

Accessories: Top Note Die & Alphabet Die all cut with the Big Shot (cut in half), Circle Punches: 1", 1/2" & 1/4", & Word Window Punch

Buttermilk Pancake Recipe Page

This is for my 6x6 recipe class for next week. I would love to hear what you think of it as I am not sure if I like it or not.
I typed out the recipe & printed it from the computer. Then I cut the Only Orange Cardstock to 5.5x6 and ran it through my Big Shot with Stampin Up Backgrounds I swirly texturz plate. Then I ran a sponge with Chocolate Chip Ink lightly over the swirls to bring them out a bit more. I stamped the piece of Creamy Caramel and then punch out the pancakes & also sponged the edges, layered them onto the plate that I punched out of Chocolate Chip Cardstock.

Supplies:

Stamps: Basic Backgrounds (retired)

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Only Orange, YoYo Yellow Creamy Caramel & So Saffron
Accessories: 1/4" Square Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Ticket Corner Punch
Eyelet Border Punch
