No Neutral Challenge

I combined two different challenges for this card. Over at Techno Stamper she gave the inspiration for the layout of the card.
The other challenge was the LNS Demonstrator Yahoo Group who provided the challenge to create a card without any neutral (white, vanilla, etc) colors on the card.
Here I used Brocade Blue cardstock, ink & DSP. I also used Regal Rose DSP and then So Saffron cardstock. I also ran the So Saffron through the Big Shot using the Stampin' UP! Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder. I also used the Flowers, Daisies #2 Die Cut to create the pop up flower which was topped off with a Fire Rhinestone Brad. The image is stamped from Level 2 Hostess set calle dAsian Artistry.
Not sure if I am totally happy with it, I would love to hear what you think about it.

Trigger's Birthday

I found a card over on Stampin' Connection made by Ellen Kemper. I LOVED IT!! So, I had to recreate it. She had his tongue hanging out and I thought a bone would be more appropriate for "my" dog (he's not really my dog but he thinks I belong to him....long story....he is my Aunt & Uncle's dog). They keep trying to send him home with me....he is a Bassett Hound that weighs about 75lbs and thinks he weighs 7.5lbs....he is hilarious!! Anyway it is his birthday next week and he will be 7 on the 24th. So thought I would send him a treat along with this card.
I used the following punches: Wide Oval, Butterfly, 1/2" Circle. His muzzle is cut out with the Big Shot and the Circles 2 Die Cut (the big circle). White gel pen for highlights on the eyes & nose.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 4th Birthday Cody!

My cousin's little boy will be turning 4 soon and he is OBSESSED with Sponge Bob Square Pants. He will sit and watch that show for hours!! Recently I saw a card on Stampin' Connection that was VERY similar to the one I made. I didn't have the same texture plate that she used but I think the one I used works okay.

Here's what I used:

YoYo Yello Cardstock
Close to Cocoa Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Basic Black Cardstock
Real Red Cardstock
Brilliant Blue Cardstock
Regal Rose Cardstock
Slit Punch
Word Window Punch
Heart to Heart Punch
1-1/4" Square Punch
1-3/4" Circle Punch
1-3/8" Circle Punch
1-1/4" Circle Punch
3/4" Circle Punch
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Big Shot

My 10 year helped alot and said "that's awesome" when it was finished. I hope Cody likes it too!

Loved it so much I think I will make some for my swap card for the Milwaukee, WI Regional Convention in April. Are any of you attending that one?? Would love to make some new friends!!

Skateboarder Birthday Card & Swap

Good Morning!

I just got this stamp the other day and my son has been wanting me to play with it. He has a couple of friends that really like skateboarding and asked me to make a card for a friend of his that has an upcoming birthday! When I was done he thought it was great!

Recipe:

  1. Old Olive Cardstock for the base.

  2. Stamped the corner with Old Olive Ink using the image from Extreme Elements

  3. Cast A Spell DSP for a little accent.

  4. Basic Black Cardstock for a layer behind the skateboarder.

  5. Next I stamped the background from Extreme Elements using Old Olive Ink.

  6. Then I stamped the Extreme Skateboard image with Versamark & used Black Embossing Powder to make him stand out.

Garden of the Heart for Mom

I got some NEW toys today!! Also, one of my customers/friends just order the new Garden of the Heart Stamp Set & told me that I could play with it before I give it to her tomorrow. So I thought I would make her a card sample. I found one almost the same as this made by Michelle Reynolds (another SU Demonstrator) over on the new Stampin' UP! Demonstrator website called Stampin' Connection. I did change the ribbon & sentiment & also added some sparkle to the ribbon on the hat. Here is how it was made:
Started with So Saffron Cardstock. Ran this through the Big Shot with my NEW Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, leaving about 1-1/2" un-texturized at the bottom of the 1/4 sheet. Then I stamped the "Wonderful Mother" from the Occasions Mini Catalog Stamp Set called Well Scripted, using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. Then I tied this Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon around into a know. Next I stamped the hat/bonnet from the Occasions Mini Catalog stamp set called Garden from the Heart with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I colored the ribbon & flowers with So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker. The leaves & stems were colored with the Old Olive Stampin' Write marker. I then cut out the image with my Paper Snips and popped it up on the card with the Pop-Up Glue Dots. I also added Dazzling Diamonds to the ribbon on the hat/bonnet.
Hope you like it! Thanks, Michelle for the great sample!!

Beautiful Butterflies

Just last week I found a wonderful blog with some fantastic ideas. Her blog lead me to a Yahoo group of SU Demonstrators that LOVE to share their ideas.

They have a Butterfly challenge this week so I came up with this one.

I started with Basic Grey Cardstock. I also stamped "MOM" (from the Messages for Mom Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini Catalog) in Basic Grey, colored the white with an Apricot Appeal Stampin' Write Marker. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Texture Folder...I apologize, I do not have my catalog with me to look up the names of the stamp set, texture folder or Big Shot Die Cut. I will update the blog with that information later. I used my Stampin' Pastels (chalks) to color the centers of the flower & leaf of the raised textures on the background. The butterflies are cut with the SU Butterfly Die Cut. I used up some retired DSP paper for them. Last but not least I added some sparkle to "MOM" with Dazzling Diamonds.

Hope you like it & would love to hear what you think.Posted by Picasa
