For Jordan's Teacher

This is what my son and I made for his teacher for Teacher Appreciation week/day.
We made the rose with the Ornament Punch. He did all of the color on the Whisper White cardstock with Melon Mambo Ink and a sponge. Then he helped me put the rose together and then rolled over and fell fast asleep!!! I mounted the flowing on a Scallop Circle (Old Olive Cardstock) that I cut in the Big Shot. Next I used the Scallop Oval Punch (folded it in half) and ran it through the Crimper and then opened it to create the leaves. His favorite color is blue so I use Pacific Point Blue Cardstock and put it through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and put them onto the flower with mini glue dots
He's a pretty good kid! H0pe she likesi

No Neutral Challenge

I combined two different challenges for this card. Over at Techno Stamper she gave the inspiration for the layout of the card.
The other challenge was the LNS Demonstrator Yahoo Group who provided the challenge to create a card without any neutral (white, vanilla, etc) colors on the card.
Here I used Brocade Blue cardstock, ink & DSP. I also used Regal Rose DSP and then So Saffron cardstock. I also ran the So Saffron through the Big Shot using the Stampin' UP! Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder. I also used the Flowers, Daisies #2 Die Cut to create the pop up flower which was topped off with a Fire Rhinestone Brad. The image is stamped from Level 2 Hostess set calle dAsian Artistry.
Not sure if I am totally happy with it, I would love to hear what you think about it.

Garden of the Heart for Mom

I got some NEW toys today!! Also, one of my customers/friends just order the new Garden of the Heart Stamp Set & told me that I could play with it before I give it to her tomorrow. So I thought I would make her a card sample. I found one almost the same as this made by Michelle Reynolds (another SU Demonstrator) over on the new Stampin' UP! Demonstrator website called Stampin' Connection. I did change the ribbon & sentiment & also added some sparkle to the ribbon on the hat. Here is how it was made:
Started with So Saffron Cardstock. Ran this through the Big Shot with my NEW Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, leaving about 1-1/2" un-texturized at the bottom of the 1/4 sheet. Then I stamped the "Wonderful Mother" from the Occasions Mini Catalog Stamp Set called Well Scripted, using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. Then I tied this Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon around into a know. Next I stamped the hat/bonnet from the Occasions Mini Catalog stamp set called Garden from the Heart with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I colored the ribbon & flowers with So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker. The leaves & stems were colored with the Old Olive Stampin' Write marker. I then cut out the image with my Paper Snips and popped it up on the card with the Pop-Up Glue Dots. I also added Dazzling Diamonds to the ribbon on the hat/bonnet.
Hope you like it! Thanks, Michelle for the great sample!!

Beautiful Butterflies

Just last week I found a wonderful blog with some fantastic ideas. Her blog lead me to a Yahoo group of SU Demonstrators that LOVE to share their ideas.

They have a Butterfly challenge this week so I came up with this one.

I started with Basic Grey Cardstock. I also stamped "MOM" (from the Messages for Mom Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini Catalog) in Basic Grey, colored the white with an Apricot Appeal Stampin' Write Marker. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Texture Folder...I apologize, I do not have my catalog with me to look up the names of the stamp set, texture folder or Big Shot Die Cut. I will update the blog with that information later. I used my Stampin' Pastels (chalks) to color the centers of the flower & leaf of the raised textures on the background. The butterflies are cut with the SU Butterfly Die Cut. I used up some retired DSP paper for them. Last but not least I added some sparkle to "MOM" with Dazzling Diamonds.

Hope you like it & would love to hear what you think.Posted by Picasa

Congrats from the Forest Friends

I found another SU Demo/Blogger that has a Sketch Challenge. I thought I'd play along. I was feeling inspired by her sample on her blog the called the Techno Stamper.

I started with Chocolate Chip Cardstock.

Layered Certainly Celery Cardstock.

Stamped "Congratulations" from the new stamp set called Well Scripted that is available in the SU Occasions Mini Catalog.

Then I ran a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock through the Big Shot using the Perfect Setting Die.

Next I ran a piece of Certainly Celery DSP through the Perfect Setting Die Cut.

I layered the Certainly Celery DSP paper onto the cut piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock matching up the scalloped edges.

Then I cut a small piece of Chocolate Chip Carstock to layer behind the Certainly Celery DSP paper.

Next I attached this to the card front.

I punched out 3 of the Scalloped Square using Chocolate Chip Cardstock.

Attached these to the card front.

Stamped the Forest Friends using Certainly Celery & Chocolate Chip Classic Inks.

Attached these to the card front.

The picture looks a little dull but I think it turned out SUPER CUTE!! I would LOVE to hear what you think of it!

Cute Little Turtle

This is card #5 for the January 23rd Card Class! Don't think the color turned out very well, I may have to update the picture later but wanted to get this out to share with everyone.
The base is Chocolate Chip cardstock that was texturized through the Big Shot. Next, I used Lavender Lace cardstock to run across the bottom of the DSP Paper (sorry don't remember the name of this retired paper). Then I wrapped the Certainly Celery Ribbon that is also no longer available, tying a knot in the middle. The Turtle is from "Fox and Friends" stamp set available in the new Occasions Mini Catalog that you can begin ordering from on Monday. I punched him out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch & layerd him on top of the Lavendar Lace cardstock punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch.

Abundant Hope - Card #3

Here is another one I made while playing. Again I got the original idea from SCS but I couldn't quite figure out the measurements so I changed quite a bit but it was a good starting point!
The base layer is Mellow Moss Cardstock with Always Artichoke Cardstock to follow. The top base layer is Apricot Appeal, which I ran through the Big Shot with the tiny dots textures. Next came the sentiment "Easter Blessings" stamped with Always Artichoke Classic Ink. Then I stamped the daffodil image from the Abundant Hope stamp set that will be available in the Occasions Mini catalog begining in January! I colored the image with my Apricot Appeal & Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Markers. I thought it needed some sparkle so I added Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers. Wrapped it with 1/4" Apricot Appeal Grosgrain Ribbon tied into a know. This was then layered onto Always Artichoke Cardstock that was edged with the Eyelet Border Punch.
Well, two more to make and I am having issues with what to do with my gumball machine !! Hopefully I will come up with something. I will post it once I figure it out!

Mambo Happiness with SALE-A-BRATIONS Madness!

Well, its been a while!!

While we are awaiting Santa's arrival, I thought I would try to come up with some cards for my next 10 cards for $15 class on January 23rd!

I got the idea from the Stampin' UP! Stampers Showcase but I changed a couple of things.
I started with a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock...stamped the Baroque Motif image with Melon Mambo Classic Ink. Layered this onto a folded piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I then ran a piece of Pretty in Pink Cardstock through the Big Shot to texture it (you cannot see that part on here, so I redid it again so it was a little more noticeable but didn't take a new picture). I stamped the sentiment "Happiness Always" from the new Sale-A-Brations stamp set called Whimsical Words. This is stamped with Melon Mambo Classic Ink. Next....I cut a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and punched it with the new Scallop Trim Border Punch (YOU CAN GET THIS FREE WITH SALE-A-BRATIONS ORDER of $50 or more!). Now, onto the little flower....this is another Big Shot tool, this is an embosslet. It looks like a little folder that you put the Melon Mambo Cardstock into and it comes out punched & dry embossed to make this beautiful little flower. Then I ran the sanding block over the raised image to give a little color contrast. This was then layered onto Pretty in Pink Cardstock and then Whisper White Cardstock.
Hope you like it!! Would love to hear what you think of it.
